The Viking Challenge...for those who enjoy getting tired while experiencing a fascinating country!

The Viking Challenge Classic offers a lot of Iceland in a little time! This 7 day package lets you really experience Iceland’s magical landscape (by hiking, riding, rafting, and biking through it!) and includes some unique Icelandic fun -glacial trekking, Icelandic horses, whale watching, the Blue Lagoon all from a choice of accommodation in Reykjavik. The activities aren’t terribly hard, just exciting. In addition to fun, they provide insight into Iceland’s unique nature and culture.

This tour is not limited to people who have highly developed skills in these various activities. It is for anyone with a sense of adventure and in fairly good health. It is basically limited to adventurers above 15 years of age, mostly because of equipment and safety gear sizes.

The Daily Itinerary
This tour runs from Sunday to Friday in Iceland. Our tour package gets travelers to Reykjavik early on Saturday morning and gives them a day to rest up before taking The Viking Challenge.

The Daily Itinerary
This tour runs from Sunday to Friday in Iceland. Our tour package gets travelers to Reykjavik early on Saturday morning and gives them a day to rest up before taking The Viking Challenge.

Day 0
Leave North America for short overnight flight on Icelandair.

Day 1:
Welcome to Iceland!
Early arrival at Keflavik Airport and you’ll be met and taken into Reykjavik and dropped at your guesthouse or hotel, where you can drop your stuff and go exploring in the world's most northerly capital. We'll suggest lots of things to see in town and some restaurant ideas for lunch and dinner on your own.

Day 2:
Golden Circle & White River Rafting
You’ll visit the Golden Circle trio of wonders -- Þingvellir National Park, Geysir hot springs and Gullfoss waterfall. After lunch you’ll experience one of Iceland’s glacial rivers as you raft down the Hvita (White) river - there are rapids and gorges, and also lots of fun! Lunch included. 10 hours.

Day 3:
Glacial Hike & Ice Climbing
Today you’ll see more of the lovely landscape of South Iceland, with numerous waterfalls, rivers and glaciers. You’ll get to experience some of this first hand, after you suit up for a 4 hour guided glacial walk and a chance to try a taste of ice climbing. Packed lunch included. 9 hours.

Day 4:
ATV Ride & Blue Lagoon (This is the Luxury Part)
The moon or Iceland? Decide for yourself during a 3-4 hour ATV-adventure on the volcanic Reykjanes peninsula and the Mid-Atlantic ridge. Then soak it off in the afternoon with a relaxing bath at the famous Blue Lagoon. 9-10 hours.

Day 5:
Treasure Hunt, Horses & Vikings
Test your knowledge of Reykjavík with a Treasure Hunt in the morning. Midday you’ll have a 2 ½ to 3 hour ride on Iceland’s famous horses (less experienced riders have a shorter option). In the afternoon you’ll have a whale & bird watching cruise from Reykjavík harbor. Duration 11-12 hours. Light lunch included.

Day 6:
Hiking Challenge
Today you’ll see Iceland on your own two feet. You’re taken to the mountains for a 4-6 hour hike into the mountainous and volcanic landscape of Southwest Iceland. Hiking distance about 12-17 km. Duration with transfers 6-8 hours.
.
Day 7:
Time to say good bye ...
When it’s time to leave your shuttle van will return you to Keflavik International Airport for your return flight. OR, if you're very lucky, you can take on more of Iceland after meeting the Viking Challenge!
