Around Iceland in 15 days / 14 nights - year round!
This is the tour we all want to do! With enough time to really experience a lot of the many parts of this fascinating country, You ll make a broad circle along Ring Road and spend a night or two in each area of the country Snaefelsnes in the west, Skagafjordur and Akureyri in the north, the lush Sub-Arctic lake Myvatn, the East Fjords, the glacierVatnajokull and the south coast with black sand beaches and sea stacks, before coasting back into Reykjavik. You ll also be able to get out of the car a lot, do some day tours, enjoy some of the action that makes Iceland so much fun to visit. We ll provide information on booking tours, which can usually be done easily from on - the - road.

Day 0
Board plane for Iceland. Sleep - it s a short night flight!
Day 1
Welcome to Iceland! Pick up bags, and pick up car, and hit the road! You could explore the Reykjanes Peninsula and perhaps visit the Blue Lagoon on your way into Reykjavik. Overnight in a Fossh?tel in Reykjav?k or similar.
Day 2
Head north along the scenic Hvalfjordur, explore the Saga Valley Borgarfj?r?ur with waterfalls, hot springs and historic sites. Spend the next 2 nights at Fossh?tel Reykholt or similar.
Day 3
Sn?fellsnes Peninsula awaits you. Visit the pretty fishing village Stykkish?lmur, known for its wooden houses. Climb or snowmobile on the glacier covered volcano, Sn?fellsj?kull. Interesting shoreline, Blue Whale watch, bird cliffs.
Day 4
North to Skagafj?r?ur, the Valley of the Horses. There s time for river rafting, horseback riding or driving around Vatnsnes Peninsula and a walk to the seal colony at Hindisv?k. Spend the next 2 nights at Fossh?tel Aning or similar.
Day 5
It would be a pretty drive to Siglufj?r?ur the capital of herring fishing. The Turf Farm Museum at Glaumbaer, and the historic church at H?lar, are well worth a visit.
Day 6
Akureyri, second largest town in Iceland, gives a bit of urban contrast, with restaurants, shops, and a great botanical garden, cathedral and museum. You can pass Go?afoss the Waterfall of the Gods going east. Next 3 nights at Fossh?tel Laugar / Husavik or similar.
Day 7
Explore the natural wonders of Lake M?vatn, the hot springs at N?maskar? and the lava fields at Krafla.
Day 8
Whale-watching cruises from Husavik, and it s unique whale museum make for an interesting day.
Day 9
North around Tj?rnes Peninsula with its interesting birds, and take in visit Europe s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss on your way East where you ll have the next 2 nights at Fossh?tel Hallormssta?ur / Rey?arfj?r?ur or similar.
Day 10
Spend your day relaxing, take a boat ride to see the monster in lake L?gurinn, enjoy one Iceland s few real forests at Hallormssta?ur forest, drive to the beautiful rhyolite mountains in Borgarfj?r?ur Eystri.
Day 11
Drive (slowly, carefully) along the dramatic fjord landscapes of the East Fjords, stop in little fishing villages along the way, before reaching Europe s largest glacier, Vatnaj?kull. Overnight at Fossh?tel Vatnaj?kull or similar located near H?fn.
Day 12
The south coast is packed with natural wonders including the glacial lagoon J?kuls?rl?n, Skaftafell National Park., waterfalls too many to mention! Lots of spots to stop and wander, hike, go snowmobiling, rafting, kayaking or riding, . Next two nights at Fossh?tel Mosfell in Hella / Fossh?tel Nesb?? in Nesjavellir.
Day 13
Visit some of Iceland s most impressive natural wonders - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot springs, Keri? volcanic crater and ?ingvellir National Park. Drive along the seashore for a great lobster meal, too.
Day 14
Take in more Reykjav?k wander down town, explore the many art museums of Iceland s capital, sample the nightlife if you dare! Eat well in a great restaurant! Overnight in one of our Fossh?tels in Reykjav?k or similar.
Day 15
Relax, do museums, shops, pools or the Blue Lagoon. Drop car at airport and hop on the plane for home!
