Three Family Driving Tours 2010
s
Iceland - ideal family vacation spot !
If you’re yearning to take on Iceland with it’s wild array of landscapes, from glaciers, to volcanos, (and glaciers on volcanoes) mountains and meadows, black sand beaches and steaming hot springs, there’s no better tour than an Iceland Driving Adventure!

There are many different ways to enjoy this compact little island. You can follow Rt 1 - the Ring Road, around the country, you can explore one of the regions in depth, or even fly to one region and drive back. They can take you through remotest Iceland, or keep you calmly on the big roads. Our Family Driving tours are outlined here - there’s more, and we can adjust, and shape most tours to fit your interests and your travel schedule.

Our Driving Adventures allow you to be flexible, creative but secure - you decide how you’ll spend your day, but also know where you’ll lay your head each night. We work with you to pick the right tour, with the choice of accommodations you choose, a car that will work for you and your stuff, and any day tours or activities that you want to add. Tours can start any day of the week, and you’ll need to leave the US the day before the tour starts in Iceland.

New for 2010; Our Family Driving Adventure Tours include accommodations in hotels with breakfast, or in cottages and summer houses with kitchens so you can easily prepare your own meals. These often work well for families as there may be several bedrooms, and perhaps a sleeping loft, a bathroom with shower and space for family style relaxation. While their location, size and atmosphere may vary, all rooms adhere to typical Icelandic qualities of being clean and warm.

Iceland's power to enchant isn’t limited to those with many years of wisdom - it’s watefalls, hot springs, and mountains can charm the younger set too. There’s a lot to see and do on this neat little island, and it can be a place for a very memorable family vacation. There’s lots of ways to experience Icelands unique landscape and we’ve shaped some tours which should suit families of various ages. They’re set up to allow you more time out of the car, with fewer long driving days, and lots of specific suggestionf for what to look at along the way. There’s a lot of organized activities along the way, and we’ll provide info on those too - although some have age and size limits for participants because of safety equipment and pace of the action. These driving tours give you a bit more time in some of the wonder-packed parts of the country, all at a more relaxed pace so that you can really unwind in those hot pools! Tough choices - but at least there are no wrong answers!

We offer three basic tours of 8, 11 and 15 days that have been laid out with family travel and exploration in mind.

The first (an 8 day tour) is based in South Iceland and Reykjavik, with a blend of natural wonders and a glimpse into the life of Vikings of over a thousand years ago.
